Is there a way to use a login in a html page that will NOT send the user back to the original login screen? so it justs acts as though they logged in

actually i tried hard to figure it out my self...the best is to use javascript where it opens a new small window when u click "Login" there u enter ur username and password and when u do it closes that window and refreshes the window that first opened it and then you would be logged in withought being taken to ubb...i seen a few sites do that but i couldnt isolate the code to figure it out....anyone know how to do this

i been trying to figure it on my own for a couple weeks...i posted on infopop they sent me here heh heh where the pros hide i guess!come on allen give me a hand
